My professional growth plan
Welcome to my professional profile. As an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) teacher, I believe that education is more than teaching academic skills. It is about providing meaningful opportunities, building lasting relationships, advocating for students, and creating an inclusive environment where every child has the opportunity to grow and succeed.

Background and Experience
My interest in teaching and learning has grown over my 10 years as an early childhood special-education teacher. Working with young children with diverse developmental, social-emotional, and communication needs has deepened my understanding of the role educators play in shaping students' educational experience. The most rewarding aspect of teaching is witnessing students' growth and progress, even when it may seem small. Each small step a student takes reinforces my commitment to education.

Why Walden University
I decided to pursue a Master of Science in Education (MSED) at Walden University to deepen my knowledge and become a more effective, reflective educator. My motivation comes primarily from the students whom I teach and the challenges that I face in providing meaningful educational opportunities for children with exceptionalities.
My experiences have inspired me to strengthen my knowledge of educational research, professional collaboration, instructional leadership, and evidence-based teaching strategies.
Through the MSED program, I hope to further develop the skills necessary to become a stronger advocate for students, a more effective collaborator with fellow professionals, and an educational leader capable of making meaningful contributions to my school community.

This Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) reflects my commitment to providing individualized behavioral support to students with exceptionalities in my early childhood special education classroom. I selected this artifact because it shows my belief that challenging behaviors often communicate something and that understanding the function of a student's behavior is essential to developing effective interventions. Through positive reinforcement, visual supports, teaching replacement behaviors, and consistent data collection, I strive to help students develop appropriate communication skills, emotional regulation, and greater independence. This artifact also represents my role as an educational professional who values collaboration with families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.
